Anthony Daulphin, founder of the British Padel Awards, is launching his next venture this week with the first of eight BPA Network regional events in Liverpool.
Ahead of the inaugural BPA Network North West event at Palm House, hosted by TV presenter and broadcaster Rhiannon Jones, Daulphin told The Padel Paper that the new series will be a “vehicle for driving positive relationships and helping people in the industry stay connected.”
Backed by a healthy suite of sponsors, each regional event on the BPA Network series will feature two keynotes speakers, plus a Founders’ Panel Q&A and Partners Spotlight session.
Although the events will be casual in nature, the look and feel will be slick and professional, with host venues mostly veering away from padel clubs and towards dedicated event spaces.
“We pride ourselves on bringing people together in a big way,” said Daulphin, whose inaugural British Padel Awards in Manchester in May were hailed as a huge success.
“We’ve decided to do this regionally so people who are a bit more ‘in the know’ locally can get together and champion all the things happening in their area.
“It’s not to meet up and play padel, it’s sitting down as an audience and taking knowledge from people in the industry, networking and spending an evening in a relaxed but prestigious feel.”
Daulphin says the ultimate aim is to foster collaboration. “We need to widen our networks in order for the sport to grow,” he explains. “Building stronger relationships, and new relationships, is so important. Who knows what the conversation had at BPA Network events may lead to a year down the line?”
Starting this Wednesday (26 August) with the North West, the series then proceeds to Birmingham (West Midlands) on 30 September before six further events, culminating in Edinburgh (Scotland) next April, just a month before the 2027 British Padel Awards.
Some of the sponsors of May’s inaugural British Padel Awards have remained, as well as some new brands, some of whom (such as Boast and Lusotendas) have sponsored the entire series.
