Creamfields will become the first UK festival to feature padel when two courts are added to its ‘Downtown’ village this summer.

Launched in 1998 by Liverpool’s Cream nightclub, Creamfields has grown into an annual multi-day sellout event attracting over 70,000 people to see major DJs at its long-time home in Daresbury, Cheshire.

Last year, the dance music festival added a Downtown village and padel will be part of the village’s expansion for 2026 when Creamfields takes place over the August Bank holiday weekend.

Downtown brings together fitness, wellness, sport, entertainment and interactive experiences in one dynamic space at the heart of the festival.

In a UK festival first, two padel courts arrive on site, giving festivalgoers the chance to experience the world’s fastest-growing racket sport between DJ sets.

Delivered in association with Ignite Padel, specially designed courts will bring “a unique festival-ready twist to the game.”

An Ignite Padel spokesperson said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Pepsi MAX presents Creamfields this August Bank Holiday, delivering a UK first… bringing padel to a major music festival.

“It’s a powerful opportunity to introduce the sport through new avenues, reaching an audience who may be discovering padel for the very first time. Here at Ignite, we aim to work with world leading brands, and we can’t wait to showcase what we’re about on a platform as iconic as Creamfields.”

Also in the Ball Park area of the festival, there will be a huge football tournament, a darts competition, crazy golf, Wellness Corner, Sensory Corner and the Creamfields Gymnasium with a schedule of fitness challenges designed to test strength, endurance and stamina across the weekend.

As usual, this year’s Creamfields also features over 250 of the biggest names in dance music, including Swedish House Mafia, Amelie Lens presents AURA, and Disclosure (Live), live performances from Faithless and Underworld, plus global legends including Calvin Harris, Carl Cox and Martin Garrix.
