Great Britain’s padel stars will bid to take their place in the 2026 World Cup through qualifying in Madrid this week.
Beginning on Tuesday (September 22) the qualifying period takes place over five days, until Sunday (September 26) with the fixtures to be drawn later on Monday (September 21).
Following last year’s World Cup event, 10 teams already have their places confirmed for this year’s finals, and there are two more up for grabs for GB’s men and women this week in European qualifying in Madrid.
That means they need to reach the final two in order to secure their spot in November’s Qatar finals.
GB Squad
The GB men’s squad is headlined by Christian Medina Murphy, the world no.147, who has reached the semi-finals of FIP events in Utrecht and Bangkok in September.
Other names of interest include Louie Harris and debutant Theo Garton, 22, whose parents both represented GB. His story can be read here.
The women’s squad is headlined by two top 100 players, Aimee Gibson (world no.91) and Catherine Rose (world no.93). Both are in strong form ahead of the tournament, with Gibson having won FIP Bronze Casablanca two weeks ago, before reaching the final of FIP Silver Guimaraes over the weekend. Rose, meanwhile, picked up a FIP Bronze title in Turkey over the same weekend.

Also in the women’s squad is 16-year-old debutant Chloe De La Mare.
