The FIP World Padel Report 2025 has delivered another comprehensive analysis of the sport’s relentless growth, estimating that global players now exceed 35 million.

The second edition of the world governing body’s annual report also indicates a 16.1% increase in the number of clubs, a 15.2% rise in courts, and a 42% growth in members registered with national federations compared to last year.

In terms of the professional game, FIP-organised tournaments increased from 182 in 2024 to 290 in 2025, involving over 11,000 athletes in the professional men’s and women’s and junior (Promises) FIP rankings.

The global facilities map shows that clubs have increased by 4,775 units, surpassing 24,600; 14,355 courts were built in 2025, bringing the total to 77,300, spread across 150 nations and 20 dependent territories (+26 compared to the FIP World Padel Report 2024).

Great Britain is named as one of three ‘major European countries’ (along with France and Germany) who continued a strong growth rate of 130% in 2024. The report highlights the milestone of 1,000 courts, as reported by the LTA in July this year, but we now know that number to have nearly doubled in the six months since.

Interestingly, the report highlights that Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Denmark entered a more “moderate” growth phase in 2024, while Sweden “is not yet showing signs of recovery” after its boom-bust period after the pandemic.

The ‘National Federations’ section of the report (starting on page 122, with Great Britain on page 214) offers a few estimates on court, club and player numbers which look a little light, and analysis of GB player performances on the FIP circuit which do not include 2025 and therefore exclude milestones such as Aimee Gibson and Catherine Rose‘s entries into the top 100.

The FIP World Padel Report 2025 also includes a focus on the spread of padel on the web and social media: there were 3.8 million unique users and 70 million page views, the latter figure being ten times higher than in 2023. Numbers related to followers on FIP’s official social media channels (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn) have grown by 400% in two years: from 210,000 in 2023 to 850,000 in 2025.

The section on participation introduces a new chapter that examines growth at the continental level. It highlights, for each region, the countries experiencing strong growth, emerging countries, and those in a consolidation phase.

The chapter on competition organisation outlines history and statistics of the three FIP circuits – Premier Padel, CUPRA FIP Tour, and FIP Promises and analyses the FIP men’s and women’s rankings for both professional and junior players.

The second part of the report, produced by the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department, includes profiles of each of the 87 national federations affiliated with FIP in 2025 (this number has since risen to 100).

This section also includes the number of coaching licenses and the number of national participations in the various international team competitions.
