Laura Jackson and Alice Keddie won their first title together at last weekend’s LTA Grade 1 at Rocks Lane in London while men’s champions Nicholas Hatchett and Sam MacNeil also made a career breakthrough.

Playing in their first tournament together, Jackson, recently part of the GB squad at the FIP Euro Padel Cup, and Keddie had a comfortable run to the final without dropping a set.

The top seeds continued their strong form in the final, overcoming talented British juniors and eighth seeds Chloe De La Mare and Rosie Quirk with a composed 6-3 6-4 victory.

In the men’s competition, seventh seeds Hatchett and MacNeil delivered an impressive performance throughout the tournament, earning their place in the final after a series of strong wins. There, they faced top seeds Jake Bewley and Sam Jones, but Hatchett and Macneil came out victorious claiming the men’s title 6-3 6-4.

“I’m proud of how far I’ve come…”

After winning her first Grade 1 title, Keddie reflected: “I’m absolutely over the moon to have won the Grade 1 at Rocks Lane alongside Laura. This feels like such a huge milestone, especially as it marks exactly a year since I played my first ever tournament. It’s been a year of serious graft, both physically and mentally, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

“A big shoutout goes to Chloe and Rosie. They’re both such superstars and it was a real battle out there. I’m looking forward to watching them continue to grow as players.

“I loved competing alongside Laura. She’s so talented, and I felt like I could completely trust her on court. Our communication was spot on and I really enjoyed the partnership. Huge thanks to my coach Ale Grillo, to Rocks Lane, and to everyone who came to support. It honestly means the world.”

The results in Chiswick, west London, mark a significant moment for British padel, underlining the growing strength and depth of talent on the domestic circuit.

The competition in Chiswick was the fifth LTA Grade 1 event of 2025 to take place across England, Scotland, and the Channel Islands as part of the British Tour, encompassing the top padel competitions in Great Britain. Grade 1 events see the very best British players and international competitors competing in standout events, across full weekends, for prize money.

British players will return to action on home soil next week at the FIP Bronze Island Padel Jersey.
