The LTA is expanding its padel team with four new roles being created to develop and promote padel at grassroots and performance levels.
The recruitment drive will see new roles assigned to speed up the development of padel coaches and officials, support GB’s national teams, develop tournaments at all levels and social media content production.
The expansion of the governing body’s padel department is a clear response to the sport’s remarkable growth in Britain, which shows no signs of abating.
Tom Murray has been the LTA’s Head of Padel since it became the sport’s governing body in 2019 and Steve Yeardley came on board in September 2024 as Padel Manager. Amy Flatman became Padel Communications Lead last year.

About the roles
Padel Social Media Content Producer
This role will sit within the Marketing & Customer Strategy team, to lead the creative direction and delivery of engaging video and social content that showcases padel and inspires a diverse, next-generation audience. You’ll play a central role in shaping an inclusive and vibrant community, capturing live moments at events, managing social channels, and collaborating with players, partners and internal teams to tell authentic, compelling stories. Combining creativity with insight, you’ll use performance data to continually refine content, support wider organisational priorities, and help grow the sport through innovative, audience-first storytelling and meaningful partnerships.
Padel Performance Operations Manager
This role will focus on performance operations, supporting national team logistics, administration for supported players including their Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and the organisation and scheduling of junior camps, national training activity, overseas trips, and national team competitions. It will also provide support to the padel team in coordinating work with our contracted coaches, whilst overseeing programme policies and procedures.
Padel Tournament Manager
This role will sit within the Competitions team as the dedicated point of contact for all padel competition activity, working closely with delivery partners and stakeholders. It will oversee the planning, development and support of padel competitions, including provisioning and sanctioning and identifying new and innovative opportunities, (especially at the recreational end of the competitive structure), and support padel competition work across ratings and rankings.
Padel Workforce Education & Support Manager
This role will sit within the Coach & Official Development & Support team to enable the LTA to move further and faster in padel coach and official workforce development and engagement, responding to rapid growth and industry demand. On-court workforce is critical to the success and sustainability of new and existing padel facilities. This role will focus on putting in place strong support to engage the padel workforce within venues and across the sector, ensuring coaching supply, development, and engagement keep pace with growth.
The LTA’s Head of padel Tom Murray said: “Padel is the fastest-growing sport in Britain, and that momentum is creating new and exciting opportunities at the LTA, the game’s National Governing Body.
“We’re delighted to be introducing four new padel roles that will play a key part in shaping the future of the sport. From elevating padel’s profile and visibility through innovative content and social media, to growing and strengthening the competitive structure and padel performance player pathway, to building a sustainable workforce to support the grassroots of the sport.
“For anyone passionate about padel, and keen to help drive its continued growth, this is a fantastic time to join the LTA.”

It is inevitable – Padel must form its own governing body. The LTA is clearly conflicted and will always prioritise funding, marketing and resources for tennis. The conditions attached to the expansion of Padel at LTA Imber Court, is a prime example.
Padel is about to eat tennis’s lunch so they are not going share their plate. Padel must breakaway now.
