The UK entered the world’s top 20 nations for ‘highest search interest in padel’ last year, according to the Padel Global Search Report 2026.

The report shared by the World Padel Network is billed as “the most comprehensive analysis of how the world searches for padel,” covering long-term online growth patterns and short-term trends in over 25 of the world’s leading padel nations.

The report shows that worldwide search interest in padel grew by 49% year-on-year between 2024 and 2025 — but the increase in the UK was a disproportionate 121%.

This big rise puts the UK 15th in the global list of countries with the highest search interest, only fractionally behind UAE, Switzerland, Italy, Paraguay and Indonesia.

Indonesia, incidentally, saw a staggering 887% year-on-year rise, demonstrating South-East Asia’s recent padel explosion. Other standout countries include Ukraine (+280%), Pakistan (+198%), India (+128%), Australia (+102%) and USA (72%).

Although these rapid growth rates are not hugely surprising, the figures in the report do indicate the extent to which other countries are catching up to Spain’s historic dominance.

Although Spain still leads, the gap is closing, with Portugal, Argentina, Denmark, Estonia, Belgium and the Netherlands all surging into contention.

When broken down into weekly figures across the year between 2024 and 2025, the lowest week of the year in terms of search scored 56/100. For context, that level would have been an all-time record just two years ago.

As the report states: “The conversation now shifts from whether padel is growing to how the industry keeps pace with demand.”

The statistics also reveal that each market has its own rhythm. Spain and Portugal run hot across all seasons. Italy peaks in summer and again in autumn. France has quietly consolidated into a steady, year-round market. The UK peaks in winter. The US is still finding its pattern.

Incidentally, the report also shows that worldwide over the last 12 months, padel had higher search interest than pickleball in every single week.

Jamie Rowe, founder of World Padel Network who published the report, told The Padel Paper: “We all know padel is growing in the UK and the US, but the report helps us answer by how much and provide numbers to help facilitate these discussions.

“The data also indicate how interest in padel may trend over the next few months and years, regionally and globally. Of course, they should only be treated as an indicator, but they certainly hold value.”

On the genesis of the report, Rowe added: “I’d seen a few mentions of search data in padel reports, but nothing comprehensive. I thought that was a shame, but also an opportunity.

“The search data are fascinating and help to answer questions we all have – where is interest for padel booming? How has that changed over the past two decades? The past few years? The past 12 months? Is padel more popular in this country or that country? What about on a global scale, and on a regional level? It’s great to contribute this report to the community.”
