Another huge padel centre will open this July in Liverpool as the world’s fastest growing sport increases its massive Merseyside footprint.
Ignite Padel, a Liverpool-based company, opened its first site in the city in April 2025 on Queens Drive, with six floodlit outdoor courts. They then opened another site in Ellesmere Port in Cheshire Oaks in September 2025, which has five indoor and two outdoor courts. Their third venue opened in Speke in December last year which consists of six indoor courts and four outdoor covered courts.
These projects are in addition to the Jurgen Klopp-backed FC Padel project in Wavertree, Pure Padel’s upcoming six-court site at Liverpool Innovation Site and the eagerly-awaited floating padel club at Liverpool Waters, which is set to open in August or September.
The latest site in the Ignite Padel portfolio at Hunts Cross will have 11 indoor courts and the site is just over 34,000 square feet in size.
Hunts Cross will have a licensed bar and coffee shop showing Sky Sports and TNT Sports, plus retail store where players can shop for rackets, balls and clothing.

Stephen Broad, Partner at Ignite Padel, said: “We have imported all the courts from Spain and they are championship standard quality and LTA approved, meaning they meet the standards set by the Lawn Tennis Association.”
Ignite Padel Hunts Cross will be the company’s fourth site and they are aiming to open a total of five across the North West by the end of 2026.
Chris Watson, Partner at Ignite Padel, added: “We are excited to announce our fourth padel site in the region. The game is going from strength to strength and it is great to see players of all ages and levels taking up the sport. We will also soon be announcing details of our fifth site as we get nearer to completion on the site.”
