A Glaswegian padel fanatic has launched a free online racket comparison tool to simplify the process of buying suitable equipment.
Rob Mac has launched the Padel Racket Comparison Tool under his brand Follow the Viper (FTV).
It enables players to search, filter, and compare padel rackets across 236 models from 23 brands — free of charge and without requiring an account or registration.
Players, particularly at the improver and intermediate stages, often struggle to make sense of the differences between rackets and translate technical specifications into practical buying decisions.
With limited independent comparison resources available to UK players, FTV set out to create a practical, data-led resource that solves this issue and puts the player’s needs first.
The FTV Padel Racket Comparison Tool allows players to filter its racket dataset by a range of attributes, including:
- Shape — round, teardrop, or diamond
- Balance point — low, medium, or high
- Player type — beginner, intermediate, advanced, or professional
- Surface — rough or smooth
- Brand — across 23 verified manufacturers
- Last seen price — with sourced links for each racket including European and UK websites and physical retailers
Each racket listing includes key specifications, a verified image, and a direct link to the lowest most recently confirmed retail listing. The dataset is maintained and updated by FTV on an ongoing basis.
The tool provides independent, non club-agenda guidance that FTV believes every UK padel player deserves access to.
FTV began as a community-first initiative helping players in Glasgow navigate the padel ecosystem through publishing news and events including a weekly synopsis of available tournaments across its website and Instagram channel.
The Padel Racket Comparison Tool is free to use and available at followtheviper.com. No account is required and the tool is optimised for desktop and mobile use.
