Pure Padel’s expansion continues apace with a planned Centre of Excellence in the north-east in what’s thought to be the UK’s first purpose-built padel warehouse.
Construction of the 10-court facility at Gosforth Business Park in Newcastle begins this week after planning permission was secured for a 40,000 sq ft warehouse designed exclusively for padel.
The venue will include a tournament-grade show court, alongside a hospitality-led clubhouse with café, licensed bar, sports lounge, changing facilities and dedicated space for corporate events and business engagement.
The club will serve as Pure Padel’s first designated Centre of Excellence, combining courts, coaching programmes and tournament capability under one roof.
Located just north of Newcastle city centre, the site has been selected for its accessibility and visibility. It is expected to open in December 2026.
Sammy Arora, founder and CEO of Pure Padel, said: “Gosforth is a hugely important project for us. This will be the UK’s first purpose-built padel warehouse and our first Centre of Excellence, which makes it incredibly exciting.
“We’ve invested in the freehold and worked closely with the council for over two years to get this right, so to now have planning approved and construction starting later this week is a big milestone.

“There is huge demand for padel across Newcastle and the wider North East, with people travelling significant distances to play, and we’re proud to finally be delivering a facility that matches that appetite.
“We’re also excited to support Newcastle’s growing business community by creating a venue that works just as well for corporate events and networking as it does for playing padel.”
Pure Padel operates on a pay-to-play model, with courts bookable via the Playtomic app and no membership fees. LTA-qualified coaches will be based on-site, supporting players of all levels.
Since launching its first club at Alderley Park in October 2023, Pure Padel has become one of the UK’s fastest-scaling padel operators. Its strategy is transforming large-scale industrial and urban sites into modern sporting hubs.
The company’s flagship indoor club in Manchester city centre was followed by venues in Darlington, Stockport, North Leeds and Nottingham, with construction now underway at further sites in Lightwater, Solihull and Glasgow. Planning has also been approved, or is progressing, for additional locations including Birmingham city centre, York, Coulsdon, Liverpool Innovation Park and the Wirral.
For 24-year-old founder Arora, the Gosforth development moves him closer to his long-term ambition of “30 by 30” — building 30 Pure Padel clubs by the time he turns 30.
