Slazenger Padel are set to open the UK’s biggest padel club in Leeds this summer.

In an exclusive interview with The Padel Paper, Slazenger Padel’s Stuart Perrin lifted the lid on plans for a 14-court venue near to Leeds United’s Elland Road stadium, to be known as Slazenger Padel Leeds South.

With an impressive 15m ceiling height and 40,000 sq ft, the unit next to the city’s White Rose Centre will also feature retail, event and social space, and changing rooms. It is expected to open by summer 2026, subject to approval of its full planning application.

Backed by the financial might of the Frasers Group (majority owned by former Newcastle United chief Mike Ashley), Slazenger Padel is just beginning what’s set to be a rapid roll-out of clubs across the UK.

“We’re positioned to absolutely dominate the sector,” Perrin told us. “Without doubt by the end of the year we will operate the most courts within the sector.”

The brand’s debut club, Slazenger Leeds North, opened in the Seacroft area of the city in October 2024 and has 12 courts. It has since hosted many high-profile events and competitions and claims a court occupancy rate of over 90%.

Slazenger Padel’s second UK club, which has eight padel courts and two pickleball courts, opened in Swindon just after Christmas. Its third, with nine courts, opened in Blackburn last Saturday (see pics).

Further club openings are upcoming in Mansfield, Cardiff, Exeter, Ellesmere Port, Newport, York and Gillingham.

In a further development, the signature black and yellow branding which characterised its first club in Leeds North is set to be replaced by Slazenger’s ‘classic heritage green.’

All courts in Slazenger Padel Leeds North will be fully returfed and rebranded in Slazenger heritage green, with the yellow net posts changed to black. The reception, bar, retail area and signage will all be reskinned too.
