Planning has been approved for six outdoor padel courts at Willen Lake, a popular nature and activity destination in Milton Keynes.
Four covered courts and two open-air courts — including singles courts — will open at the park later this year, operated by UK PADEL.
With walking trails, water sports, cafés and open green spaces already attracting families, couples and individuals throughout the year, padel will add another exciting way for people to enjoy Willen Lake.
When the courts open, players will be able to take part in daily social mix-in sessions. Led by UK PADEL, these sessions are designed for players of all levels and aim to help build confidence, develop skills, and connect people through play.

Robert Wood, Executive Director at Willen Lake, said: “Willen Lake has always been about bringing people together through activity, nature and shared experiences.
“Partnering with UK PADEL allows us to introduce an exciting new sport in a way that feels open, welcoming and accessible. These courts will strengthen Willen Lake’s position as a key destination for everyone in Milton Keynes and beyond.”
Nick Baker, CEO of UK Padel, added: “UK PADEL is all about making padel accessible to all and creating a real sense of community at our padel clubs.
“Our new club at Willen Lake fits perfectly with this – allowing everyone to enjoy playing padel at this wonderful setting in the lakeside park. With our team of expert padel professionals, we will ensure that it is a true hub for individuals, couples and families to play and join in at the club.
“We will have our usual line-up of great padel social mix-ins and tournaments for all to enjoy so we look forward to welcoming you there!”
Bookings will follow the UK Padel model, with non-members able to book courts up to seven days in advance. Players who choose to become annual members will be able to book courts up to 21 days in advance at a reduced rate.
