The UK’s first Pro-Am padel series is ready to launch at Roehampton Club on 11-12 April.

The Pro Am Padel Tour pairs the top British professionals with high-profile padel enthusiasts from the worlds of sport, business and the media for a fun afternoon of padel.

Events will comprise a pro masterclass, a round-robin tournament and both a men’s and women’s exhibition match.

The ground-breaking new series, the first of its kind in the UK and possibly the world, is set to give padel a huge profile boost thanks to the calibre of the celebrities taking part, the breadth of their backgrounds, and the media interest their presence will generate.

The Padel Paper understands that the line-up includes big names from rugby, football and cricket, who will help introduce padel to the wider UK public.

TalkSPORT, the world’s largest sports radio station – who boast 500k followers on Instagram and over two million on Twitter, are believed to be covering the event.

The Pro-Am Padel Tour has also announced that its charity partner for 2023 will be Rackets Cubed, who deliver education, nutrition and racket sport programmes to children in underprivileged areas of Britain (and recently started their first padel programme!)

Guest charity partners at the first event in Roehampton will be the Kerslake Robshaw Foundation, run by ex-England rugby union captain Chris Robshaw and his wife, the Brit-nominated soprano Camilla Kerslake.

Event organisers told The Padel Paper: “As well as the on-court action, there will be a focus on creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere for the celebs to enjoy – which is so typical of padel clubs across the continent.”

After the launch event at Roehampton Club in London (pictured above), the inaugural series will move on to further venues throughout the summer across the UK.
