A new padel-specific video analysis tool allows any player or coach to access detailed match data and immediately view automated highlights.
Dartfish, provider of video analysis solutions for sport, has partnered with Skylab EPA, a specialist sports technology and performance analysis firm, to launch the new product. It delivers match data in easy-to-digest dashboards and video.
Skylab EPA produces products and services that it says “cut through the noise of data in sport, providing clarity and a deeper understanding of the game”.
Their entry into the padel market alongside Dartfish comes after extensive research into how to apply their respective expertise to the world’s fastest growing sport.
Users can interrogate exclusive data generated from top worldwide padel competitions and benchmark their own or their players’ performance against the ‘elite.’
Customers can also upload their own footage for Skylab’s own analysts to generate data and to deepen understanding of the user’s game. It can spot trends and benchmark across a player’s season and compare to the world’s best.
Laurent Wenker, CCO of Dartfish states: “Until now, coaches identified key trends based on data and reports. By combining video with easy-to-understand dashboards, this product will further improve padel coaches’ efficiency and effectiveness. We look forward to expanding this product into different sports with Skylab.”
Ciaran Skinner, SkyLab’s Business Development Manager, said: “The important of context is imperative to make better evidence-based decisions in sport. That’s why Skylab are excited to launch our first product in partnership with Dartfish where we combine our performance analysis and creative expertise with Dartfish’s trusted and robust video platform already validated by the market.
“Through crafted data visualisation, we enrich athletes and coaches to better understand and communicate complex strategies, refine plays, and improve decision-making skills.”
