Entries are now open for the inaugural UK PADEL County Championships taking place at Rocket Padel in Bristol on 18-19 November.

The event will mark padel’s first inter-county tournament in the UK and will be run by UK PADEL’s tournament director Mark Ayers, creator of the Surrey Padel League. There will be men’s, women’s and mixed pairs draws.

Mark will work with interested parties from LTA-defined counties to select county captains, who will select the best available teams to represent their respective counties. Pro players competing on the World Padel Tour are excluded.

Interest from counties and players must be received by 18 September, and team lists with entry fees must be submitted by 16 October.

Mark commented: “This will be the first event of its type in the UK and one that we intend to become an annual competition across different age groups.”

Nick Baker, Director of UK PADEL said: “The idea of an inter–county event is a much-welcomed addition given the growth and enthusiasm for padel at grassroots level.

“The time has never felt more right to put on more quality competitive events in the annual calendar.”

Neil Percival, Director of UK PADEL added: “We hope the inaugural UK PADEL County Championships will attract the finest eligible players from across the UK.

“Padel can engage the widest possible range of people to exercise, stay healthy and build community and a marquee event like this will help padel’s growth as the T20 of tennis.”
