The final touches are being applied to Rocket Padel’s new 11-court venue in Ilford which will be London’s biggest padel club when its doors open on Monday 8 April.

Construction work on the club, located at The Drive in Ilford, East London, commenced in the New Year. Upon completion, there will be nine panoramic covered courts alongside two singles courts, allowing members to play all year round. The playing arenas are adjacent, ranging from 7.3m to 11.5m in height, split into two areas: one with six courts and the other housing five courts.

Additionally, the facility will feature a warm-up zone, pro shop, bistro bar, spectator areas, and meeting rooms, creating up to 20 full and part-time job opportunities in the local community.

Fredrik Kristensson, Chief Executive and co-founder said: “Padel is growing at a phenomenal rate, and we can’t wait to open our doors. We are thrilled to be building a strong and sustainable grassroots foundation for the growth of the sport, especially in Ilford and the UK.

“The beauty of padel is in its accessibility: it is easy to learn and can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. With high-quality courts, LTA-trained coaching and a premium service that doesn’t cost the world, Rocket Padel will open up an activity to a whole new country of players.”

The Ilford venue marks Rocket Padel’s second UK club after a successful opening in Bristol. A third club is set to open soon at a riverside location in central London.

Visitors to the venue will have the opportunity to hire rackets and book lessons from LTA-approved coaches to enhance their padel skills.

Club manager Oskar Wynne (pictured above) said: “Our mission is to make padel accessible to everyone and bring people together, no matter how young or old they are or what their standard is. The beauty of padel is that it is such a fun game to play and improve very quickly. We can’t wait to meet the people of Ilford.”

Rocket Padel, originating in Sweden, has emerged as one of Europe’s leading padel operators, blending sport and lifestyle.

Public court bookings at Ilford are now open through the Playtomic App, with reservations available from April 8th.
