The inaugural edition of the Anglo American Padel Cup will take place at Rocket Padel’s soon-to-open fourth UK club in Beckton, East London, in October 2025.
The Cup will feature elite competitors from both Great Britain and USA contesting across four categories of play — Open, 40s, 50s and 60s — with equal representation across men’s and women’s teams.
The event builds on the rich 150-plus year history of sporting competition between the UK and US, following in the vein of the original America’s Cup, Ryder Cup and Davis Cup.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and US Padel Association (USPA) have both pledged their support for the Anglo American Padel Cup, with the British governing body set to provide officials for the tournament.
When it opens this spring, host venue Rocket Padel Beckton will boast five state-of-the-art indoor courts, three outdoor courts, a full-service gym, bar and café, wellness features including saunas and cold plunge pools, as well as a second floor viewing platform.

GB men’s captain and LTA no.1 men’s player, Rafa Vega, said: “I am excited to be captaining Britain’s men’s team in the Open category of what promises to be a hugely exciting debut Anglo American Padel Cup.
“To have the opportunity to lead the British men’s team against our American counterparts, at a home club such as Rocket Padel Beckton, will be a moment of pride. I’m excited to compete and, together, we will be aiming to secure victory for Britain in the inaugural competition.”
British women’s captain and LTA no.1, Eloise Tait, added: “I’m so proud to captain the women’s team for the first-ever Anglo American Padel Cup at Rocket Padel Beckton. It’s a huge moment for British padel, and being part of this historic event is an honour. It’s an exciting time for the sport, and I can’t wait to work with our US partners to help grow padel on a global scale!”

The hosting of the inaugural tournament in London in October marks a switch from the originally announced venue and date, New York’s Padel Haus in May. Following the re-arranged 2025 Cup debut in the UK, the next edition will travel to the US and thereafter will rotate back and forth between the countries for years to come.
Rocket Padel Founder and Chief Commercial Officer, Sebastian Gordon, commented: “We’re excited to host the inaugural Anglo American Cup at our newest club, Beckton later this year. It’s a privilege to welcome the top padel talent from both Britain and America. We can’t wait to showcase this incredible tournament to London’s passionate padel fans this October!”
Tom Murray, Head of Padel at the LTA, said: “The LTA is proud to support the inaugural Anglo American Cup by providing Officials for this landmark tournament. This event marks the beginning of an exciting transatlantic rivalry, reflecting the rapid growth of padel in both Britain and the United States. It presents a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent of Britain’s male and female players as they compete against their American counterparts while also inspiring future generations to carry this rivalry forward for years to come.”
Scott Colebourne, Chief Executive Officer of the USPA said: “The USPA is pleased to endorse this event and recognises its potential importance to the growth of padel in the USA and Britain. The USPA seeks to showcase our elite athletes in important international competitions around the world. We expect the Anglo American Padel Cup to become a permanent fixture of international padel competitions.”
Anglo-American Padel Cup Co-Founders Bill Ullman, Joelle Quinn and Ben Nichols, said:“ We are delighted that Rocket Padel is hosting the inaugural Anglo American Padel Cup. We could not be partnering with a better venue to host the best American and British padel players. We are excited to organise an event that unites cultures, showcases elite talent across generations, and writes a fresh page in our shared sporting rivalry and history.”
