After the successful launch of the BL001 in 2024, Babolat and Lamborghini have collaborated once again to release the BL002 for lovers of both padel and super sports cars.
The new racquet will use Koridion foam and 3K carbon to optimise energy restitution, the same materials that the classic Italian manufacturers use to build their cars. The carbon will be protected by a thermoplastic polyurethane surface, offering resistance to the racquet and greater protection when striking the ball.
The racquet will weigh 360 grams and will be available to players at €600 (roughly £500). There will be 5,000 units that hit the shelves, a vast increase from the 50 racquets that were on sale during the first launch. Players can purchase the racquet from Padium, Tennis Nuts, Padel Shack, PDH Sports and Wigmore Sports.
While BL001 was produced in Lamborghini’s factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the BL002 launch will be fully designed in Babolat’s Padel Studio near Barcelona.

Valentina Vladea, Brand Activation Manager for Babolat, discussed the change in process with The Padel Paper.
She said: “We have a factory there where we produce some of our products already. In the first collaboration, Lamborghini used some of our padel knowledge and created a product whereas now – still in collaboration with Lamborghini – Babolat is producing the product. We want to make sure everything is accurate and done correctly because it is not a mass production, it is limited numbers.”
Eric Babolat, CEO of Babolat, says: “Babolat and Automobili Lamborghini, leading brands in racquet sports and exceptional super sports cars respectively, continue to share their technological and industrial expertise to produce exclusive padel racquets.
“Our know-how and our constant quest for innovation are at the service of players of all levels and ambitions. The widest possible padel family should be able to enjoy high-performance racquets. We’re working on it every day. The BL002, the first racquet to come entirely out of the Babolat Padel Studio, is an important milestone for our brand and the culmination of a long-term project.”
Ranieri Niccoli, Chief Manufacturing Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, said of the collaboration: “As Automobili Lamborghini, we are thrilled to announce the second chapter of our collaboration with Babolat. This partnership goes beyond product design; it represents the fusion of two distinct worlds — racquet sports and luxury automotive engineering. Our carbon fibre production team was directly involved in the creation process of this new racquet, bringing our expertise in materials and the know-how of Made in Italy to the Spanish headquarters. This will be a racquet of desire for all padel and super sports cars lovers.”
