Britain’s second world tour event of 2025 takes place this week with The Padel Hub in Whetstone, North London, hosting the FIP Bronze HOP London Padel Open.

Three qualifying rounds will be played across Wednesday and Thursday, before the main draw gets underway on Friday. The second round and quarter-finals will take place on Saturday before Sunday’s showpiece semi-final and finals day.

On the women’s side of the tournament, there are a host of British pairings, with 24 of the 58 confirmed players being home favourites.

Tia Norton will be the highest ranked British female in action, with the GB no.3 partnering Dutch star Stephanie Weterings. GB no.7 Hannah Maddock will also be in action, pairing with Spaniard Luna Di Noto Fernandez.

In the men’s draw, GB no.2 Sam Jones (pictured above) will be competing with partner Tom Farquharson, while GB no.5 Jake Bewley plays alongside Theo Garton. Frankie Langan teams up with Nikhil Mohindra, while last week’s Grade 1 winners Chris Salisbury and Alfonso Patacho are together once more.

One of Britain’s strongest duos in the tournament comes in the form of Louie Harris and Alexander Loughlan. The pair are ranked third and sixth respectively in the GB rankings, and recently reached the quarter-finals of the FIP Silver in Bristol.

Loughlan told The Padel Paper he is confident of his chances of a successful week with Louie (pictured below).

“Of course, we want to compete as well as we can,” said Loughlan. “We have both been in the quarter-finals of FIP Silver events, as well as a couple of quarter-finals in the Bronze. I don’t think it’s out of the question to reach the semi-final or even the final, but we have to be realistic as well. We will take it one match at a time.

“It is exciting to play in London. I recently played a FIP Silver event in Bristol, when we played against two Spanish guys, you could really tell that you had a home crowd watching. I’m really looking forward to playing in London and having the support of the home fans, it will be interesting.

“The National Championships last weekend gave myself and Louie two days of really intensive training together. I think I’ll be coming over to the UK on Thursday next week, then I’ll train on Thursday and Friday next week before the main draw starts.”

GB no.1 Aimee Gibson, meanwhile, has opted to head back to the Philippines to compete alongside new partner Caterina Maria Baldi at the FIP Silver Reap Manila. It was in Manila last November that Aimee won her first FIP RISE level title alongside Victoria Nicholas.
