Game4Padel has partnered with the Corporate 5’s Cup to roll out a corporate padel league at its UK venues.

Starting at The Padel Yard in Wandsworth, The FinTech Padel League will start on 10 September and will run for nine weeks. Nine teams will be able to participate with Onfido already signed up to compete.

Each team will consist of six players mixing and matching to play three doubles matches (men’s doubles, ladies doubles and mixed doubles) during the course of an evening.

All abilities are welcome to participate and it will kick off with a ‘intro to padel’ coaching session and networking event. At the end of the league, The Fintech Padel League trophy will be awarded to the winning team.

Corporate 5’s Cup currently runs five-a-side football and netball tournaments and weekly leagues across the capital, attracting a mix of financial services, media and creative services and fintech businesses to compete. The company has been operating since 2017 and runs three weekly leagues and a series of nine one-day tournaments at sites across London.

Commenting on the new partnership, Duncan Scott from Corporate 5’s Cup said: “Our corporate leagues are a great way for companies to build team morale and create more emotionally invested employees.

“From an employee point of view, it’s a fun way to get to know your colleagues better and network with others in your industry. We’ve been watching the growth of padel in the UK and believe it will work extremely well in a corporate league format. We’re expecting it to appeal to a totally different group of players than our five-a-side league and that will plug an important gap for the businesses that we work with. We’re excited to launch this first league this September.”

Michael Gradon, Game4Padel CEO added: “Padel is an easy game to learn and master, and so it is extremely accessible. People who have different levels of playing experience can still enjoy a great game with plenty of long rallies and as a result we’ve seen a really diverse range of people try out this sport. The social side of the game is also a big factor in its growth in the UK.

“This mix of accessibility and the social capital padel offers make it an appealing benefit for businesses to offer their employees and we look forward to rolling out these leagues in other parts of our padel network”.
