Instantcourts , the company behind Instantpadel, the world’s only fully mobile padel court system, is partnering with Padel Mates, the UK’s leading social networking and booking app for padel players, to bring a new level of accessibility, community, and fun to one of London’s most exciting districts: Canada Water.
The new pop-up venue, opening 5 May, will feature four Instantpadel courts, installed without the need for major groundwork or extensive permitting, thanks to Instantpadel’s unique modular, no-foundation design. The site is set to become a vibrant hub for both seasoned players and curious newcomers, combining sport, social connection, and city life in one of central London’s most prestigious and fast-growing areas.
Christoffer Granfeldt, founder of Instantcourts, comments: “This is an amazing opportunity to onboard new players to the game while creating the perfect social spot for Londoners. Teaming up with Padel Mates was a no-brainer: they have a strong presence in the UK and share our mission of making padel more accessible, social, and fun.”

Daniel Dawood, co-founder of Padel Mates, adds: “This project checks every box for us, growing the game and connecting people through padel. This is just the beginning, and we’re here to support the UK community every step of the way.”
The partnership comes after Instantpadel’s successful 2024 run in London, where over 24 courts were activated across the city, including major sites like Battersea Park. Recognising the continued growth of padel in the UK and the barriers posed by permits and planning restrictions, the two brands began discussions on how to overcome these challenges through agile, short-term urban activations.
Christoffer explains: “The gold of padel is land and space. When you do a proper inventory of what’s available, there are incredible sites sitting unused, just because they’re hard to access short-term. Instantpadel is built exactly for this. We make it possible to activate those spaces quickly, without the red tape.”
Canada Water, situated in the London Borough of Southwark, is a key regeneration zone undergoing a £5 billion transformation led by British Land. With excellent transport links (Jubilee Line and London Overground), a growing community, and a focus on green, social infrastructure, it’s the ideal location for this next-generation sports activation.
Instantpadel at Canada Waters will be run by a local operator supported by Padel Mates and Instantpadel.
