Padel London has teamed up with the newly-opened Padel Hub to stage ‘the largest charity padel tournament the UK has ever seen’ in aid of Barnardo’s.

The tournament – which takes place at the plush new five-court venue in Slough, Berkshire, on Saturday 2 September – will feature 16-strong men’s and mixed draws for improver to upper-intermediate levels.

At the time of writing there are only two entry places left for the event. Every entry fee for the competition is donated to Barnardo’s. Spectators are welcome to the club free of charge to watch the competition and enjoy the new venue’s facilities.

The event is the first what will become an annual Padel London charity competition.

Founder David Segura-Pravia says the partnership with Barnardo’s “ties in with Padel London’s values that every individual has the potential to reach unparalleled heights, irrespective of where they start in life.”

He says: “We recognise that not everyone begins their journey on an equal footing. Some are born into challenges, facing adversities that often seem insurmountable.

“Barnardo’s mirror our sentiments. Every day, they strive to change the narratives of children who, through no fault of their own, are born into families facing challenges. These children deserve love, care, opportunities, and above all, a chance to rise above their circumstances.

“We’re uniting our Padel community to make a tangible difference, and we invite you to be a part of this transformative journey. Join us in making history, not just in the world of Padel, but in the lives of countless children who will benefit from our collective efforts.”

The event is sponsored by Bas3line, Play Brave, Akkeron, RS, Kelme and Padel R, with further sponsors to be announced in the week leading up to the competition.
