The Pro Am Padel Tour has announced CUPRA, one of Europe’s fastest-growing car brands, as its official automotive partner for 2024.
The new partnership will see CUPRA, a brand that already has strong ties to the global padel community, working collaboratively with the Pro Am Padel Tour to continue the sport’s fast upward trajectory in the UK.
The Pro Am Padel Tour will pair top British padel professionals with high-profile padel enthusiasts from sport, business, and entertainment across a series of four UK-based padel tournaments.
The first of these tournaments is set for Wednesday 8 May at Rocket Padel in Bristol. The remaining events will take place in London, Manchester and Derby and each will offer on-court activations to drive public engagement with the world’s fastest growing sport.
Oliver Morgan, Founder of the Pro Am Padel Tour, said: “We are delighted to partner with CUPRA to bring the second season of the Pro Am Padel Tour to some of the country’s most prestigious venues. The anticipation around padel is at an all-time high and we are seeing real evidence that the sport is entering its boom phase in the UK.
“This is a great time for our Tour and CUPRA to be growing the sport’s popularity through our compelling, unique format and with a growing number of big-name celebrities lining up for the second season.”
Marcus Gossen, Director of SEAT and CUPRA UK, said: “CUPRA has been synonymous with padel throughout its considerable global growth in recent years, and the partnership with the Pro Am Padel Tour demonstrates the brand’s continued commitment to champion the sport. United by a shared passion for padel, we will take CUPRA’s challenger spirit to inspire participation across the nation.”
The Pro Am Padel held its maiden tour in 2023, seeing the likes of Chris Robshaw, John Terry, Jos Buttler, Danni Wyatt, Carly Telford, and Michael Vaughan take to padel courts at some of the UK’s leading padel venues. The inaugural edition of the tour delivered an action-packed schedule for members which included corporate sessions, sponsors activations, pro exhibitions, Women’s Hour, clinics and more.
The padel brand’s new official automotive partner, CUPRA, has been involved in the sport since 2019. Globally, CUPRA has partnerships with several elite organisations including International Padel Federation, CUPRA FIP Tour, and Premier Padel. From grassroots to professional level, the brand is dedicated to shaping the sport’s future with a clear goal to propel the international evolution of padel.
A brilliant leap forward for the Pro-Am Padel Tour, taking the sport a further step into the broader sporting community in the UK. This padel is going to grow big. Well done Oliver Morgan, and thank you CUPRA
