The highest-level professional padel tournament ever staged in the UK will take place in Bristol next month – offering an unprecedented €18,000 prize pool.
The FIP Silver R3 Bullpadel Cup will be the first in the new R3 Bullpadel Cup series launched by R3 Sport in conjunction with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and International Padel Federation (FIP).
Taking place at Rocket Padel Bristol from 9-13 April, the event is set to attract top national and international talent and kickstarts the R3 Bullpadel Cup series, which will take place over a maximum of six events at venues around the UK.
The tournament will offer fans the opportunity to enjoy high-level padel alongside entertainment, street food and exclusive interactions with professional players. An activation zone will feature a range of padel-related companies offering exclusive discounts and benefits. Admission to the event will be free.
Additionally, a multi-camera live stream, complete with replays and commentary, will broadcast the tournament to a global audience.
The FIP Silver event will be complemented by a FIP Promises, a junior international competition featuring U18 and U14 boys’ and girls’ categories.
Marking the first tournament of its kind in the UK, it will launch the R3 Junior Cup, a national series designed to provide a structured competition pathway for emerging British padel players. The winners of the event will be awarded a one-year athlete management contract with R3 Sport, offering the support necessary to advance their careers to the next level.
Jonathan Rowland, co-founder and chairman of R3 Sport, said: “Bringing FIP Silver-level competition to the UK is a transformative moment for British padel. This is the highest-level international tournament ever staged in this country, and it’s just the beginning of what the R3 Bullpadel Cup will deliver for the sport. Players need more opportunities to compete at an elite level, and this event will provide exactly that, while also inspiring the next generation through the R3 Junior Cup. We’re excited to partner with Rocket Padel to deliver an event that raises the bar for British padel.”
Sebastian Gordon, Founder of Rocket Padel, added: “Rocket Padel is committed to driving the growth of padel in the UK, and hosting an event of this calibre at our Bristol club is a huge moment for both the venue and the sport. Partnering with R3 Sport allows us to provide a world-class experience for players and fans alike, and we look forward to welcoming some of the best international and British talent to Britain’s padel capital this April.”
