Rocket Padel is set to expand its UK empire by opening London’s largest padel club in early 2024.

Founded by Swedes Sebastian Gordon and long-time business partner Fredrik Kristensson along with Carl-Henric Heimdal, Rocket Padel opened the UK’s largest club in Bristol in May.

Rocket Padel is calling its second UK club opening, in Ilford, east London, “a game changer” for the capital city’s padel scene.

The venue will include 11 courts (two full competition panoramic courts and two single courts), ample free parking, spectator areas, a bistro, pro shop, conference room and much more.

Rocket Padel co-founder Sebastian said: “We believe that padel has the potential to transform the way Londoners approach sports and fitness. Rocket Padel Ilford is a testament to our commitment to providing a platform for enthusiasts to embrace this engaging sport.

“Padel is about fun, fitness, and forging connections, and we are thrilled to offer Londoners the ultimate destination to experience it.”

Like its Bristol club – which last weekend hosted the UK’s ‘biggest ever tournament’, The Padel Weekend by HOP – Rocket Padel wants its new Ilford venue to be part of “a movement, a community, and a commitment to making sports and fitness more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”

Fredrik, Co-Founder and CEO, added: “We are thrilled to open such a large club in East London. A larger padel club offers several advantages when it comes to providing opportunities for people to try the sport, and, by doing so, grow the sport.

“The increased court capacity will lead to reduced waiting times, allowing more individuals to participate in the sport during peak hours.

“Moreover, with a broader membership base and a larger number of players, a diverse range of skill levels and playing partners become readily available, making it easier for newcomers to find suitable opponents and learn the game, ultimately fostering a thriving and inclusive padel community.”
