Soul Padel officially joined the burgeoning UK padel club scene with launch events for its first two facilities at Decathlon stores in Stockport and Glasgow.
Eloise Tait, the former international hockey player who is now LTA-ranked no.12, and Madrid-based M3 Padel Academy coach Angel Rino played an exhibition match at Stockport and the significant crowd included content creators and media.
Ezequiel Fernandez and Marcos Canada from Decathlon also participated in the match play.
Just three days later, on 10 June, Soul Padel’s second club officially opened its doors at Decathlon Braehead in Glasgow, furthering the company’s mission to make padel accessible to a wider audience across the UK.
Eloise, who is set to compete in the German Padel Bundesliga and represent Great Britain in the 2025 Maccabiah Games, said: “I was honoured to be a pro at Soul Padel’s first Decathlon event opening. The turnout was incredible, with people from all walks of life eager to try and learn the sport.
“The courts were buzzing with excitement, and smiles were everywhere as our guests discovered the joy of padel. Soul Padel is truly facilitating something special, bringing the thrill and happiness of this amazing sport to anyone brave enough to step on the court!”
Soul Padel founder Mark Hewlett added: “Accessibility for all is at the heart of Soul Padel. Our collaboration with Decathlon supports our mission to make padel a widely participated sport. We are dedicated to delivering quality coaching and promoting the sport through events like these.”
The launch event was part of Soul Padel’s efforts to engage the local community, with
additional activities planned throughout the week, including ladies’ sessions, LGBTQ+ social
plays, free court time for schools, and discounts for local businesses.
Soul Padel’s new facility in Stockport adds to Greater Manchester’s ever-growing list of clubs (with more on the way) as the region becomes a strong padel hub.
