Padel rackets come in three shapes – diamond, teardrop and round… right? Not any more. Swedish brand STIGA Sports has brought a fourth shape to market.
After making waves in table tennis and pickleball, STIGA Sports has now applied its revolutionary Cybershape design to padel rackets.
Former Padel Pro Tour player and coach of the Swedish national team Daniel Dios has been involved in developing this new hexagonal racket concept.
He commented: “This racket takes the concepts of sweetspot and power to a whole new dimension, thanks entirely to its hexagonal shape. The ability to reach balls close to the ground or the walls was probably the most surprising thing to me when I first tried it. Every shot feels fantastic and you can hit hard without compromising on technique.
“Now, after testing Cybershape for almost a year, I find it very hard to imagine going back to my old round rackets. It takes a lot of courage to create something new in the way STIGA Sports has done. I am incredibly impressed with them and extremely proud to have been involved in the development of such an outstanding product.”
John Bandstigen, Product Manager Racket Sports at STIGA Sports, added: “The 20% greater sweetspot in conjunction with the blistering acceleration is an incredible benefit of the Cybershape mould.
“As you hit harder and faster shots, you get tremendous power and forward assist that gives you a sense of total control, despite the high speed. The combination of speed and control is, I dare say, a unique feature of the Cybershape racket.”
STIGA Sports Cybershape Padel racket comes in three versions: Cybershape 3K, Cybershape 18K and Cybershape 18K Hard. Pre-booking began on Monday 15 January at stigasports.com
