As it hosts this week’s Event 3 of the 2024 Pro Padel League, Taktika Padel has secured a new partnership that is promising to revolutionise the US padel landscape.

The Pro Padel League’s third event of the year, taking place at Taktika Padel HQ in San Diego, includes Great Britain’s Tia Norton representing defending champions Las Vegas Smash (follow the event here).

To celebrate hosting the prestigious event, Taktika has joined forces with the prestigious Paquito Navarro Academy, and will soon begin implementing the world-class training curriculum and high-performance programmes developed by head coach Ramiro Choya, the esteemed coach of padel legend Paquito Navarro, a former world number one and current world number eight.

The Paquito Navarro Academy is headquartered at the renowned Jose-Calvo-Sotelo-owned and -operated Mad4Padel club in Madrid, Spain, which has earned a reputation as one of the finest padel clubs globally.

Of this groundbreaking new alliance, Taktika Padel founder and chairman Perez-Krieb stated: “We are thrilled to join forces with the Paquito Navarro Academy. This collaboration represents a significant milestone for Taktika Padel as we aim to raise the standard of padel training and performance in the United States.

“With the exceptional guidance of Ramiro Choya and the unparalleled expertise of Paquito Navarro, we are confident that this partnership will inspire and develop the next generation of padel champions. Additionally, his guidance will, for the first time in the U.S. padel industry, provide a true and experienced padel coaches education and certification platform.”

Under the new partnership, Taktika Padel will be responsible for incorporating the Paquito Navarro Academy’s elite training methodologies and certification programs for coaches across all its clubs and affiliations throughout the U.S.

This initiative will be led by Ramiro Choya, who will bring his extensive expertise and innovative coaching techniques to U.S. padel enthusiasts and professionals.

Jacobo Blanco, who is currently Taktika Padel’s head coach, as well as a former top 15 player in the world and current PPL competitor (for the hometeam San Diego Stingrays), will serve as Choya’s U.S.-based Director of Coach Certifications for the Paquito Navarro Academy.

This collaboration now sets the stage to replicate the professional development already proven in Spain, Argentina, and many other countries rich with padel, within the United States, a market poised to become one of the next padel powerhouses.

According to Redondo, “This partnership is a game-changer for the U.S. padel market. By integrating the Paquito Navarro Academy’s training curriculum and high-performance programming into our clubs, we are setting a new benchmark for padel excellence in the country. Our goal is to provide players of all levels with access to the best coaching and resources, and this collaboration is a significant step towards achieving that vision.

“As a former NCAA Division I tennis coach and coach to Grand Slam ATP players, I understand the importance of proper coach education and professional certifications. This is what we are bringing to the U.S. market. To truly experience the joy of padel, it is essential to learn to play correctly, which requires coaches who are trained to teach the sport correctly.”

Navarro echoed this sentiment, saying, “The U.S. has incredible potential for padel growth, and I am excited to see the sport flourish with the support of Taktika Padel’s dedicated team. Together, we will nurture and develop talent, fostering a new era of padel in America and I am honored to elevate this beautiful sport in the U.S. as I have across the globe.”
