Online platform The Padel Directory has announced a partnership with Vitality — a major sponsorship that signifies padel’s growing stature in the corporate world.
Health and life insurers Vitality have a significant sponsorship portfolio in UK sport, including Premier League club AFC Bournemouth, English domestic cricket (including the Vitality Blast T20 competition), the Vitality Roses (England netball team) and various running events including parkrun.
In a move “aligned to Vitality’s core purpose; to make people healthier and enhance and protect lives,” the popular platform will now be known as The Padel Directory Powered by Vitality. It will continue in its aims to connect, promote, and make the sport more accessible.
The Padel Directory, founded last year by George Modler and Ben Harris, has had over 150,000 users. It is designed to simplify and enhance the padel experience, allowing players across the UK to find courts, events, coaches and brands while connecting with other players.
Furthermore, the platform supports clubs and organisations with useful tools that help them grow their communities.
As part of the partnership, both organisations will collaborate to drive awareness of the sport and make padel more accessible for players of all levels across the UK.
Nick Read, Managing Director of the Vitality Programme, said: “Padel is a fast-growing and exciting sport and we are delighted to be partnering with The Padel Directory to further drive awareness of the sport and help many more people to play or try out the game.”
Ben Harris, co-founder of The Padel Directory, added: “I’m really excited about this partnership and to see that Vitality shares our vision for growing padel in the UK.”
“They’ve already had a big impact in other sports like netball, cricket and the parkrun, so I’m confident this will be a great thing for padel too. We’ll keep doing everything we can to support, grow, and promote the sport.”
