Game4Padel’s popular and award-winning Padel Yard site in Wandsworth, Greater London, is set to close as developers move in.
The Padel Yard opened in 2023 and has since become a vibrant hub for padel and pickleball, with over 13,000 customers. A golf pod and contrast therapy spa was recently added.
The Evening Standard named The Padel Yard as one of London’s best padel clubs and it has become a favourite with local celebrities and influencers.
However, the club will close at an as-yet unconfirmed date when building work begins on the land for residential and commercial development.
However, current members of The Padel Yard need not despair, as they will be able to transfer their membership to an imminently-opening new site nearby, G4P Padel Yard Vauxhall, or play at any of the other 22 sites Game4Padel now have open across the UK.
The new Game4Padel site in Vauxhall, opening this month, will initially be a three-court site near to the overland and underground stations and in close proximity to Oval, Nine Elms and Pimlico. It is being opened on a new landmark development, in partnership with Bmor, GFH Partners and Cedarstone.
Following two rounds of engagement over the past year, residents in Vauxhall called for more community activities. While the wider site remains vacant, this meanwhile use responds directly to that feedback, with further plans to be announced later this month.

If consented, the major investment will deliver new homes – including affordable and social housing – as well as expanded and improved green spaces, places to eat and meet, and a mix of leisure and community facilities that support local life and inclusive growth.
In addition to premium padel courts at G4P Padel Yard Vauxhall there will also be an enhanced social space at the site for padel players and the local community to hang out, enjoy drinks and snacks, and browse the onsite shop.
Game4Padel co-founder and CEO, Michael Gradon, said: “The Padel Yard in Wandsworth is known for being central London’s most iconic padel venue for offering great facilities, reasonable prices and for being a place to meet like-minded people to play sport and mix with a year-round, laid-back, street-cool vibe.
“The new site in Vauxhall will be London’s most central club, offering a similar ambience and is ideally located for anyone in South-West London. We are very excited for the potential of this new club.
“We will be extremely sad when The Padel Yard in Wandsworth eventually closes as it has been such an amazing success. It has helped define what padel can be in this country, replicating many of the successful clubs in Spain and in Europe, where the social aspect of the sport is just as important as the game itself. It has undoubtedly helped grow padel in this country opening the sport up to many thousands of people.”
Game4Padel has sites in England, Scotland and Wales, as well as destinations in Spain, New Zealand and Australia. Game4Padel recently opened a site in Glasgow (Great Western Golf which is the highest footfall driving range in the UK) and is opening another site in Staffordshire (Draycott Racquets & Fitness Club) later this month. The company aims to double the number of courts it operates in the next 12-24 months.
